TechKriti is the hub for innovation and excellence in the field of Science and Technology for the inquisitive young minds in India. Ever since its inception in 1995, it has been a trademark for excellence, a platform for many to learn, showcase and innovate. Over the years. During our 31-year long journey, TechKriti has evolved to be the grandest of all. Known as Asia’s largest technical and entrepreneurial festival. TechKriti’s ever increasing enthusiastic crowd. With distinguished guests of honour in the fields of Technology, innovation and entrepreneurship with world-class tech at display makes the festival even more splendor. With such repute at stake hospitality of the guests are premier. The Hospitality team serves to cater the needs and requirements of one and all the TechKriti’s team makes sure their guests stay in campus is holistic and comfortable ensuring best accommodation for everyone is their prime aim. Simultaneously the gastronomic urges of the guests are also taken care of by the canteens and food courts serving food all day long with constantly striving the experience as a memorable one. At TechKriti, Guests are about to witness the 31-year old journey.
Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, inaugurated Techkriti 2025, Asia’s largest intercollegiate technical and entrepreneurial festival, at IIT Kanpur. In a Fireside Chat, the CDS gave insights on the need for advancement and modernisation in the Indian Armed Forces and shared his perspectives on preparing for emerging challenges of Future Wars, specifically in the Cyber, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum and Cognitive domains.
In his address, Gen Anil Chauhan emphasized the importance of embracing technological advancements, strategic thinking and adaptability to meet future security challenges. He inspired the young audience comprising scholars, students and NCC Cadets by highlighting the values of Discipline & Resilience, Courage & and Sacrifice. His encouraging words at Techkriti 2025 motivated students to pursue careers in defence and technology.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, AOC-in-C, Central Air Command and Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director IIT Kanpur. This year’s theme, “Panta Rhei” (Everything Flows), highlights the continuous evolution of technology and innovation. Techkriti 2025 promises to be a remarkable celebration of technology, entrepreneurship and collaboration, pushing the boundaries of discovery and innovation.
A special segment, ‘Rakshakriti’, a dedicated Defence Expo to showcase the cutting-edge defence technology, was a key feature of Techkriti 2025. Driving further synergy between armed forces, academia and defence industry, Gen Anil Chauhan interacted with budding technologists. The event provided a sound platform to connect researchers with industry leaders, enabling the development of advanced technologies like autonomous drones, strengthening national security and reducing import dependence.

Techkriti is an annual four-day inter-collegiate technical and entrepreneurship festival at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. The festival is usually held in March. The 31st Edition of Techkriti was scheduled to be held from 27 to 31 March 2025. The festival began in 1995 to develop student technological innovation. The word Techkriti is derived from tech (technology) and the Sanskrit kriti (creation).
History
The first Techkriti was held in March 1995 and has since continued as the institute’s annual technological and entrepreneurial festival. Since then the fest has grown and is claimed to be Asia’s largest technical and entrepreneurial fest
Workshops and talks
The 2017 Techkriti
Students and academia at the festival can attend talks by professionals in various fields from India and abroad. Speakers at Techkriti have included aerospace scientist and former Indian president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Free Software Foundation founder Richard Stallman and Rakesh Sharma, the only Indian to date to travel in space. Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai was the guest of honour at the 2016 festival, which was scheduled to end with a musical evening.
