Preparations are being made for celebrations in the state on the 68th Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh. This day will be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on 1st November. Like every time, this year also BJP and Congress will leave no stone unturned regarding this programme. Since it is an election year, this time’s program is going to be very interesting. On this occasion, we know how the state was formed in 34 months and then how the Prime Minister of India named it.
Earlier CP and Brar were known.
Some time after the independence of the country and before that, Madhya Pradesh was known as Central Province i.e. Central Province and Berar i.e. CP & Berar. The princely states were united in Azad Bharat. After this, from November 1, 1956, our state started being called Madhya Pradesh.
MP was made up of 4 statesMadhya Pradesh was formed by combining CP & Berar, Central India (Gwalior-Chambal), Vindhya Pradesh and Bhopal. For this, the State Reorganization Commission was formed in independent India. The Commission had the responsibility of creating a state as big as Uttar Pradesh, because it was to be created by combining Mahakaushal, Gwalior-Chambal, Vindhya Pradesh and the surrounding parts of Bhopal.
The challenge becomes even bigger because the pre-existing states had their own separate identities and also had their own separate assemblies. When these states started being united, the princely states started opposing it. In such a situation, the Commission took about 34 months to complete all the agreements.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 1 greeted the people of Madhya Pradesh on the State’s Foundation Day and said it is achieving new heights of development and making important contributions in realising the nation’s resolutions in ‘Amrit Kaal’.
