BharatGen

BharatGen is an innovative project aimed at developing advanced AI models tailored to India’s multifaceted languages and cultures, which is crucial for addressing the underrepresentation of Indian languages in existing data sources. BharatGen has launched the Bharat Data Sagar initiative to collect primary data, focusing on languages that lack sufficient representation.

Collaboration for Enhanced AI Models

BharatGen collaborates with various research groups across India and ensures that the AI models developed can be utilized and refined by researchers and the broader community. The project seeks to encourage collaboration with government bodies, industries, and startups. These collaborations aim to create applications that enhance administrative functions and serve the public, particularly marginalized and underserved communities.

Tools for Cultural Identity and Growth

To support regional growth and cultural identity, BharatGen provides tools for content creation in various languages. These tools facilitate seamless translations between local languages and dialects. The initiative aims to empower local communities by enabling them to engage with technology in their native languages.

BharatGen brings together top AI researchers from prestigious Indian institutions. Collaborating institutions include IIT Bombay, IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Mandi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIM Indore, and IIT Madras. These experts work alongside government entities, businesses, and startups to create AI models that reflect India’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

The project is committed to ensuring equal access to technology for all citizens. BharatGen’s approach considers socio-economic backgrounds, aiming to bridge the digital divide in India. The initiative strives to make advanced technology accessible to everyone, regardless of their social standing.
