DD Robocon 2024
IIT Delhi and Prasar Bharati will host the two-day Robot Competition ‘DD-Robocon’ India 2024 from July 13, at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi. The event will host more than 750 students from over 45 colleges, institutions, and universities in the country.

During the competition, robots will face off each other to execute complex tasks within precise windows of time. The winning team from DD-Robocon will represent India at the international Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Robocon 2024, which will take place in QuangNinh, Vietnam.
Aim of this competition
IIT-Delhi said in a release that DD-Robocon India is aimed to promote technical skill development, innovation, and teamwork among engineering students by providing visibility and recognition in the field of robotics. It added that the competition is an esteemed platform for showcasing and advancing the students’ engineering and robotics capabilities.
Prestigious competition
IIT-Delhi Professor S K Saha expressed the institute’s gratitude to Prasar Bharati for letting IIT Delhi and its knowledge partners to conduct the prestigious competition and help select the winning team to represent India in the ABU-Robocon in Vietnam.
In DD Robocon 2024, hosted by IIT Delhi in collaboration with Prasar Bharati, Nirma University’s Institute of Technology in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, emerged as the champions, claiming the prestigious championship title. Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering in Pune, Maharashtra, achieved the runner-up position, showcasing exceptional performance throughout the competition. The victorious team will represent India at the international ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) Robocon 2024, scheduled to be held in QuangNinh, Vietnam, on August 25, 2024.
Nirma University Winner of DD Robocon 2024
As the champions of DD Robocon 2024, the Institute of Technology at Nirma University has grabbed the opportunity to join the IHFC-READY Program. This initiative, supported by IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics), a Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Delhi, aims to foster and assist aspiring entrepreneurs in their journey towards innovation and business development.
DD Robocon 2024, hosted at Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium, united robotics enthusiasts from all corners of India, showcasing their skills in a dynamic exhibition of talent and innovation. The event featured fierce competition among 46 teams, each pushing the limits of robotic design and functionality.
“This year’s competition has set new benchmarks in robotics excellence, and we congratulate Nirma University for their outstanding performance,” said Prof. S.K. Saha, IIT Delhi. In addition to the main competition, DD Robocon 2024 featured a series of engaging events and activities aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in the field of robotics.
